Boiler Upgrade Scheme

The UK Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) could provide you with a £7,500 grant to cover part of the cost of replacing a fossil fuel heating system with an air source heat pump.

This scheme is open to people in England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you might be able to get an interest-free loan or a grant to make your home more energy efficient. If you live in Northern Ireland, you might be able to get a grant to replace your boiler.

BUS Eligibilty

To be eligible for a grant you must meet all the following criteria:
– Your property must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with no outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation.
– You must own the property you’re applying for (including if it’s a business, a second home, or a property you rent out to tenants
– You must be replacing fossil fuel heating systems (such as oil, gas or electric)

ECO 4 Scheme

The ECO4 scheme is part of an ongoing government initiated scheme to support low-income households and to create more energy efficient homes that will help reach carbon neutral goals for the UK by 2050.

ECO4 is available to homeowners or private tenants who receive income-related benefits and reside in properties with low EPC score and properties with inefficient heating systems.
