Talacre Beach Holiday Home Park – Swimming Pool Heating Solution

Global Energy Systems installed two 18kW Caernarfon air source heat pumps to support the heating of an indoor, tropically heated swimming pool at Talacre Beach Holiday Home Park. The system was designed as a bi-valent setup, integrating with an existing oil boiler to ensure reliable, year-round performance.

The park’s owners were seeking to reduce the high costs associated with oil-based heating for the large swimming pool. Following a detailed site survey, Global Energy Systems recommended a hybrid solution where the heat pumps act as the primary heat source, significantly reducing reliance on oil while maintaining consistent water temperatures.

The installation is accredited under the non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, providing additional financial returns. As a result, the system is delivering predicted annual savings of £10,207, with an estimated payback period of just 2.9 years.

This project demonstrates how air source heat pumps can provide an efficient, cost-effective solution for high-demand applications such as swimming pool heating, while substantially reducing fuel consumption and operating costs.
