This large new build with 9 rooms came straight to Global Energy Systems to heat the pig rearing mats. The farmer has been using our Air Source Heat Pumps for years on different buildings, this one being the biggest he wanted to ensure that he could save as much money on his energy costs as possible.

Five 18kW Caernarfon air source heat pumps were installed and have been keeping the temperatures set by our heating control strategy. Annual savings for this install are £6,000 which includes payments from the RHI Non domestic scheme which has been accepted.

New build classrooms for Keswick School. Global Energy Systems installed an 18kW Caernarfon air source heat pump to provide heat via UFH and Domestic hot water. Predicted annual savings of £904, this install is also eligible for the non-domestic RHI scheme to receive payments for the next 20 years.

New build of two blocks of classrooms heated by two 9kW air source heat pumps. Following the installation in 2015, the school now enjoys an annual saving of £2,164

Facing the challenge of heating a very large Victorian school building, Clarence High School is now heated by a Cambridge 100kW air source heat pump. The school has a large existing radiator based heating system and a full upgrade was not a viable option, so a system that offered improved costs and emissions was needed that could cope with the status quo.

Global Energy Systems, working with the Clarence High School’s contractor, specified a Cambridge 100kW air source heat pump, installed with gas boilers as a bivalent heating solution. This allowed the air source heat pump to contribute to the heat load for the full heat season but offered the most effective capital plan. The air source runs whenever there is a heat demand from the buildings.

The bespoke software developed by Global Energy Systems senses when additional heat is required. The gas boilers are then automatically fired until the demand is met. In winter months the air source heat pump feeds the gas boilers with pre-heated water ensuring that efficiencies are maximised.

When converting this off grid barn into a holiday let, the owner wanted a carbon neutral heating system. By combining a 15kW air source heat with 20 solar PV panels the property is able to generate enough electricity to off set the heating on most days of the year.

Our estimate for the running costs of the property were it to have been heated with oil would be over £2,500. This combination, and heat and power system offers the ultimate in costs and emissions savings

The costs of extending a gas supply to this new build luxury holiday let prompted the owners to look for an alternative solution. Turning to Global Energy Systems as a local supplier, they were able to reduce their carbon footprint by installing a 15kW air source heat pump.

The heat pump runs the heating and hot water, with radiators as the central heating system. In 2014 this cost £924 to run, offering a very similar running cost to mains gas but offering a saving of 10-15% on carbon emissions but avoiding the expense of running gas main.

The hot tub is run by a 9kW London air source heat pump that provides a full water refill on each guest changeover and 365 running days for £404 in 2014, again similar to gas, but with a potential saving of over 3 tonnes of carbon.

This has allowed a simple, efficient and single energy source system for the property.

  • Sports Hall
    • Provides heat to badminton hall via Fan convectors
    • Underfloor Heating for additional studios
    • 1x Air Source Heat Pump
    • Bi-Valent system with gas boiler
    • Non-Domestic RHI Accredited

Having already installed Global Energy Systems Air Source Heat Pumps on their accommodation properties, it was an easy decision for Ribby Hall Holiday Village when it came to installing a new heating system on their renovated sports hall.
Global Energy Systems sized and specified for 1x Air Source heat pump to provide the heat via fan convectors and under floor heating

This has kept the hall at a satisfactory temperature over the winter months and is also accredited on the non-domestic RHI to receive payments for the next 20 years

Global Energy Systems replaced a faulty Air Source Heat Pump by another manufacturer which had ceased trading. With the owner left without support from the installers and manufacturers, he contacted Global Energy who supplied and fitted 1x Caernarfon Air source heat pump to provide heating to the cafe and hot water to the kitchen.

Since installation the owner has peace of mind that we are a phone call away should he have any queries, he has also been accepted onto the RHI incentive which will receive payments for the next 20 years.

This property is a self build project where the owner was looking for a way to keep his heating and hot water costs at a minimum. With a wide range of options available for heating the property, a Global Energy Systems 18kW Caernarfon air source heat pump was installed. This standalone unit provides all the heating and hot water requirements of the building while keeping running costs low.

This 185m² new build does not have mains gas available and would have had to install an oil or LPG system. In choosing a heat pump they have removed their exposure to the rising price of oil.

With a full underfloor heating system both up and down stairs the property can run on low flow temperatures offering excellent savings. The heat pump is controlled by the UFH system and the Global Energy Systems software ensures the most efficient running. Even with temperatures as low as -13°C the property was warm. In these extreme conditions the heat pump used its built-in booster heater when needed.
